Kevin & Jack Take #3

Monday August 11

Today we had a trip to Washington DC planned, and since check-in was at 3pm, we could sleep-in today. It was only a 3 hour drive, so that wasn’t too bad.

Once arrived in Washington DC, we went to our hotel room to freshen up a bit and then took the bus downtown to Takoma Metrostation.

Since I already saw The White House, Capitol Hill and the rest, I told the guys I’d walk around in Union Station. Because unlike New York, I had no interest what so ever to walk around in DC again. To me, a building is a freaking building! No need to see it twice!

So I went off at Union Station and the guys went further to Metro Station, near The White House. They’d walk their way back to Union Station and meet me there.

After we got back to the hotels, we had some McDonalds, because seriously…it’s not like I had a choice! Hahaha

Tuesday August 12

We checked out at 11 and had breakfast at the IHOP (International House Of Pancakes). After that we went home, and I let Kevin drive, because I didn’t want to!!!

Back home we started to pack our suitcases for tomorrow!!!!

I had no interest in cooking tonight, so I suggested going out for dinner. Kevin said he wanted to try the Longhorn Steakhouse, and of course I didn’t say no…hahaha

We had a good time and a good night sleep, to prepare for the next couple of days!

Wednesday August 13

Judgment Day has come! I told Kevin to take the big suitcase, because we already had trouble putting our stuff in the small one when we got back from New York. Knowing Vegas would be fucking ass hot, I took clothes for every day, kudos for being this smart!! It’s the X-chromosome

Anyway, we drove off to Pittsburgh airport and luckily the car didn’t break down and there was no traffic jam!!! Woooo…I mean with my luck, I wouldn’t be surprised!

We checked in our bag and went looking for the gate. Luckily it was only like a 3 ½ hour flight, I seriously hate flying, my ears always hurt like hell. Anyway we landed in Denver, Colorado and had about 2 hours to find the gate for our flight to Las Vegas. So we spotted Ben & Jerry’s and HAD to have some ice-cream…no really HAD TO…it like looks you in the face and screams “EAT ME@!#”. It even says your name, so how can you resist?!

Anyway we finally arrived in Vegas sometime in the evening and it looked beautiful with all the lights. Unfortunately it took ages for our luggage to show up, pffff…then we had to wait for the shuttle bus, which brought us to our hotel, which also took FUCKING AGES!@#. Not to mention the damn heat!!! AT NIGHT!!! It was still hot…I was sitting there waiting, thinking…’Kelly, you are going to die’ hahahaha

FINALLY, it picked us up and dropped us off at the Stratosphere Hotel at the end of the strip. I swear to god, Americans and their damn airco! I curse it now! Inside it’s freezing and outside you’re dying, no wonder I feel like shit! The temperature difference is just too big. So we checked in, and damn were we hungry…luckily across from our hotel was the IHOP! Because unlike most restaurants nearby, they were still open. Mind that it was midnight by then. We were all so tired from the flight, so decided to go to bed.

Thursday August 14

I noticed our hotel had some shops on the 2nd floor, so of course I wanted to go! After doing some damage to my bank account, we decided to go for a swim. Even though it was like 107 degrees outside! When in the pool it was awesome, when outside it was death haha…no joke, the ground was so hot I almost ran! But at least I had somewhat of a tan

We had some dinner at the IHOP again, because it was rather good and the guys wanted to go back there…not to forget their apple juice which fucking rocks!

And now it was time…to kick some casino ass! Fortunately it went well for me, not so well for Jack or Kevin haha…I won 96 dollars on my first night lol

We also had planned to walk the strip at night…when it cooled off a bit…unlucky bastards we are, it stayed warm!!! Like omg, I kid you not, it was still freaking hot during the night…I HATE VEGAS!@# No really, I don’t, just during summer

Anyway, after walking for 2 hours, we were like ‘screw this, let’s go back!’ Also because we were in the middle of nowhere off the strip hahaha…We went into this shopping center, and took a wrong exit, ending up somewhere behind hotels and not finding the right way back…pfff…so we walked back to the hotel and decided to hit the slots again! After losing money, we had a drink in the lounge and went to bed, being pretty exhausted.

Friday August 15

When we checked in, we got tickets to go to the tower of the Stratosphere, which apparently had this amazing view of the city. And it did, it was incredible…unfortunately it was only open during the day. Vegas just looks way different during the day than it does during the night…I prefer it by night. But the view was still amazing.

We then went to the pool again to cool off a bit and joined in on a game of volleyball in the water…forgetting time completely, all three of us were sun burnt beyond recognition…especially the shoulders and face. Time seriously flew by and the sun was pretty hot, so yea…we’re all tomatoes now hahaha

Either way we had a good time, and today the guys wanted pizza, but I was more into a Mexican mood. So I told them I’d come find them when I was done. And believe it or not…they ate two freaking pizzas…TWO!@# Like omg, I’m talking American pizzas here right, not Dutch…AMERICAN!@# I don’t know where they put it all…

We went back to our room to pack our things, shower, and chill a bit, because our flight was leaving at 12.50am.

We still had about an hour left and decided to have a drink at the lounge and hit the slots…and damn my brother freaking won 640 dollars!@# I was like omg, lucky bastard hahaha, but I was also happy for him…

So yea, in the end Las Vegas was lots and lots of fun. For me these few days was more than enough…because face it…all you can do is walk the strip and gamble. I definitely would love to come back some day…and yea as you can all guess DURING WINTER!@#

The weekend we basically chilled, sleeping a lot, no rush, going to the movies, etc.

I brought them to Pittsburgh Airport on Monday, ending our 3 week vacation! I had lots of fun and yes only 7 weeks left and I’ll be home again

I think it’s going really fast now…like omg, I’ve been here for so long already, it still feels like yesterday I had arrived.
