Yea really I did, but I’ll get back to that later ![]()
I know it has been a while since I wrote something, but I’m not going to bore you guys with how good I’m doing and talking about my project would make zero sense to you people…so I waited until I actually had something interesting to say…which is today!!
Believe it or not, but I have been drinking…..TEA!@# No joke. When my parents and I went to New York, my mom bought some green tea in this Chinese shop, and I tasted it and was like…ooo this is not bad! So I’ve been drinking it ever since, and I also got some green tea with peachy flavor and some other flavors, which I have yet to try. So yea it looks like America has changed my sense of taste or something, because I seriously did not like tea. And now I’m addicted to it, hahaha.
Another funny story is how they cannot sell alcohol before 1pm LOL…can you freaking believe it!?!?! I was at the store, and I wanted some strawberry daiquiri’s for the night, and the guy at the check-out was like ‘Sorry, but we cannot sell alcohol before 1 pm’ and I was like ‘LOL what!?!?’ Seriously though, this is insane, I mean I think that their obsession with checking ID isn’t so bad, because alcohol is a big problem, but not selling it before 1 pm is stupid, because if they really do want alcohol, they’ll come back at 1 pm and buy it then. But I guess that must be European logic or something, I don’t know.
Anyways the girl in my office, Heidi, had her wedding May 24. I was invited and could bring a guest, so I asked her if it was ok if I brought both my roommates. Surprisingly it wasn’t that hard to find an outfit, which was NOT a dress, and still look nice for a wedding.
The ceremony was great, it didn’t take that long, and thank god it wasn’t in a church! The flower girl was real adorable, and it took her long enough to walk down the aisle, hahaha.
The food was also really good, I took the prime rib which was delicious. The rest of the night I met some people, had good talks, obviously I also had to dance, so yea…it was a fun wedding, and to be honest I can’t really tell if it was different from a Dutch wedding, because my first and last wedding I went to was when I was 4.
This week there were also a lot of season finales (tv shows), mostly CSI, CSI NY, CSI Miami, NCIS, Numb3rs, Shark, etc…and dude I don’t know, but why was everyone dying all of a sudden…jeez, the endings sucked!!! L I’ll have to wait until Fall now to see what really happened, haha.
This being America, television never stop, so yes, there’s a new tv show I’m watching, In Plain Sight. It’s about US Marshals hiding people in plain sight. And of course there’s all the csi, reba, law & order re-runs, haha.
Ok, so let’s get back to the dead people scenario…It wasn’t a joke, I saw dead people, and not like the little dude in ‘Signs’…
I was working on my instrument on Thursday, which is pissing me the hell off for one…There seems to be something wrong with the sensor, so there’s a tech guy coming in on Monday to fix it…and the sucky part is, that I ONLY HAVE TO DO ONE MORE SEQUENCE, AND I’M DONE!!! So the damn thing is just screwing with me, I know it! I even tried hugging it, and talking to it, but that didn’t help L
Anyway DEAD PEOPLE! Yes, so I was sitting there, doing my thing when Dr. Bell came up to me and said ‘Hey Kelly, we’re going to the ME’s office (Medical Examiner’s office) tomorrow, would you like to come?’ I was like ‘dude, HELL YEA!’ I bet Miranda is jealous about now hahaha, because me and her have been trying to go in Holland. One of our teacher’s gave us the number of the ME at the hospital across from our school, and we’ve been calling him several times and for some reason he never got back to us…So I had to come all the freaking way to America to see dead people! So after a small tour, the moment had arrived, and shit obviously I wanted to go inside. I had no idea what to expect, I mean I’ve seen dead animals, and hell I even dissected them in my own back yard, but humans is totally different. So we geared up (hat, gloves, shoes, gown, the whole nine yards) and went inside. The smell wasn’t so bad, probably because the bodies were fresh. I wasn’t sure how to react when actually seeing a dead person laying there, soulless…it was odd, and surreal at first. They actually had 7 autopsies that morning, which for a Friday is a lot. We all know that on Monday’s it’s crazy, because people apparently do crazy things during the weekend. The first guy I saw was laying there, skull cracked open, brain removed…
There also was this old guy, who most likely died of a heart attack, which you could tell by his face being purple. They started to cut him open and I was like WOAH COOL! It wasn’t scary or freaky or disgusting at all, I was so intrigued by seeing that. I think I stood there for 30 minutes just watching and asking one of the people all sorts of questions. I loved it, and to be honest, a voice in my head was going like ‘Kelly, this is totally your thing!’ hahaha…but damn that would take me years and years, and I’m not sure if I want to go through that. So yea this was definitely worth the 3 hour drive and the 90F heat and humidity…seriously it’s insane, it’s fucking 90 degrees (30 degrees Celsius) in JUNE!@# wtf, this is just torture L
And I thought Holland was bad, well dad you should be glad you’re not here now, haha
I also think most of you know I’m getting kicked out of my apartment end of July, apparently it has to do with the ending of a semester and unless I’m staying for another 6 months at least, they can’t let me stay until October…it’s seriously lame..so I’ve been looking for another apartment from August – October, and I may have found one, which is located about 10 minutes from the University by foot. So it’s an even better location than I have now, and also a bit cheaper. It’s just one apartment, 2 bed room, no gym though, and at the moment there’s just a guy living looking for a new roommate as of August. So I’m going to check it out with Dianna (Internship Coordinator) sometime next week.
Yesterday evening I went to the movies with Rona, a girl in the Dr. Bell Group. We saw ‘You don’t mess with the Zohan’, which is a new Adam Sandler movie, and it was ok. It had its funny moments, and some parts were just stupid haha
So that was it again, I’m counting down the days Kevin arrives…7 weeks and 2 days!!!
Oh btw, we also booked a trip to Vegas!!! Woooo, can’t wait, I’m really excited about that, and it’ll probably be so hot, we’ll die. We’re going in August and apparently it can still be around 100F then, so yea…death here we come, haha
Until next time < 3

Good luck on your roomhunt. haha
love mom and Haylie xx
