All roads lead to Rome...

January 30, 2008 - Rome, Italy

Hello from Roma!

After a long 24 hours of traveling we finally made it to Rome, Italy! Casa Tra Noi - our new home for three days - is just a 15 minute walk from St. John's Square which made it easy to explore much of the surrounding area before collapsing. We were all exhausted from traveling and the next two days, which were filled with scheduled tours and a lot of walking (eight hours each day!), didn't leave a lot of time to recover!

Rome was overwhelming and amazing, all at the same time. We visited the Coliseum, St. Johns Square, the Roman Forum, Roman ruins, Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Castle St. Angelo, the Vatican City and the Vatican Museum, San Clemente, and Santa Sabina where they used to hold chariot races. I enjoyed all of the sights but the Coliseum and the Roman Ruins were my favorite. I loved them not only because the history of both places is incredible but because they are situated in a beautiful part of Rome where it is possible to escape the craze of the city. I also loved walking along the Tibre River which was beautiful at sunset!

Ciao!
