Finally in Sydney

April 14, 2008 - Sydney, Australia

We set off from Nambucca Heads at 8.30 this morning and it was a slowish journey down due to a lot of roadworks but we made reasonable time and the traffic on the road wasn't that heavy.  We drove through a few light rain showers but nothing much.  About 80 kilometres out from Sydney the route we checked on the map wasn't the way the GPS was telling us to go so we decided to rely on the GPS and it was a good choice.

The route took us out country roads and it was a lot quieter than going the highway.  I had been a bit worried about getting around Sydney to Blacktown using highways so this took all the stress out of the journey which was good even though it probably was about 20 kilometres longer.  The highlight of this road was having to cross by ferry at Berowra Waters.  We had to go down this really steep road to the ferry and we were beginning to worry that we were going the wrong way.  We took some photos on the ferry and the place was very picturesque.

We arrived at the caravan park at about 3.30 and settled into the cabin which will be home for the next week.

Sheri had a bit of a drama as the tubing she had for the portable nebuliser didn't fit so after a phone call to the Cystic Fibrosis Association in Brisbane they gave me a number in Sydney and I was able to arrange to pick up the correct tubing in the morning.

Tasha and I did a quick grocery trip and came home and made dinner.  Luckily we have picked up a wireless internet signal here at the cabin so we have been able to get on to the internet which makes it easier.  The signal is not that good but we were still able to talk to Toby in France on line for 30 minutes which was good.

We are going to have an early night and in the morning we are heading to Featherdale Wildlife Park to visit the koalas on my foster program at work.  Should have lots of photos tomorrow.

Sheri's first game is at 2.30 and then another one at 5pm.  Results tomorrow.
