First Day of Games

April 15, 2008 - Sydney, Australia

The day dawned bright and sunny but by 9 am the clouds rolled in and there was a bit of drizzle in the air.  Tasha and I had to go to Granville to pick up the replacement tubing for Sheri's nebuliser but we managed to get there ok thanks to the GPS.  We called Sheri and she was out with some of the team at Parramatta Westfield shopping centre so we met her there and gave her the tubing straight away.

Tasha and I headed off to Featherdale Wildlife Park were we spent 3 hours talking to keepers etc and I took some photos of my foster koalas for work.  Featherdale is only 3 kilometres from the softball ground so it was a quick trip and we arrived to watch Queensland warm up.  Sheri didn't play the 2.30 game which they won 13-3 against Western Australia thanks to some great team batting and fielding.

They had a short break and then backed up to play Northern Territory.  Sheri was the catcher in this game and did a great job with a fantastic throw over to get a runner stealing a base.  Once again good team batting proved too strong for Northern Territory and Queensland won 10-1.

It seems to have been a long day and I am tired tonight.  I am going to have to go back to Featherdale in the morning as my memory card in my camera has bit the dust with all today's koala photos on

Well a nice day with a buggar of an ending. Good to hear Sheri had a good game she must have been very pleased with herself. Obviously her foot is fine. Keep enjoying you trip.

I think your GPS system has been a godsend but I am still trying to work out how you got to Berowra Ferry - did you leave the highway at Berowra? Sounds like Sherry is back on form and showing all the other players how to play!!
Don't forget to contact Nick as I am sure he would love to meet up with you all.
Gwen
