We had a great day at the Zoo on Monday. Probably the highlights were the elephants and the giraffes which got to feed. It was wonderful to get up so close to some animals which we have never done before. Took a lot of photographs which I am still trying to sort out.
We left the Zoo at 3.30 and drove 160 kilometres to Coonabarabran where I had booked a cabin for the night. On Tuesday morning we were on the road by 7am for the drive to Brisbane. We made good time and were at Tamworth by 9am. The roads were very quiet and we just pushed on, just stopping every two hours for rest breaks. We arrived home about 4.30 which wasn't too bad. I drove the whole day but it was easy driving with the quiet roads.
Of course we were greeted by two very excited dogs when we pulled up outside the house. However Dusty the cat has been ignoring us most of the time since we got back. She will get over it.
It is great to be home, we seemed to have been away a long time. We now have just over 4 weeks to prepare for our trip overseas which we can start looking forward to now.
Sheri is playing in a 4-day international tournament over the Anzac Day weekend at Redlands which will be good. She had a couple of surprises in the mail when she got home, her Level 2 Softball Coaching certificate and a letter to say that she had been included in the Queensland Academy of Sport Development program so that is another step up the ladder to playing for Queensland at Open level.
I will probably keep this going over the long weekend with softball results.
