Sunday in London

June 2, 2008 - London, United Kingdom

We had a later start this morning as it was raining.  However it cleared up in time for the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.  We managed to get a good viewing spot up on a wall across from the gates.  It was busy but I would imagine in the next few weeks it will be a lot worse.

We spent the rest of the afternoon walking through St James's Park, taking photos and looking for squirrels.  We walked through Horseguards Parade out onto Whitehall, up to Trafalgar Square and along The Strand.

We were booked in for the 3pm matinee of the Lion King and it was superb.  The costumes, the music and the performers were wonderful.

We left from there at 6pm and headed straight for The O2 (Millenium Dome) for The Osmonds concert.  What a place The O2 is inside.  I was delighted to find that our seats were only 5 rows from the front but just to the side.  The concert was magnificent, loud and colourful with lots of old songs and some new ones.  It was such a thrill to see this family that I have followed for about 40 years.  They were there with their families too and it was a really fun night.  Sheri really enjoyed it too even though she didn't have a clue who they were.

This morning we are catching the 11am train up to Edinburgh and hopefully Toby and my brother will be at the station to pick us up.
