Yesterday we visited Edinburgh Castle and were lucky enough to catch a parade of returning servicemen from Afghanistan. We explored a bit of the castle and the view from there is pretty amazing, especially on a clear day which we were lucky enough to get, although there was a bit of a cold wind blowing.
In the afternoon we were going shopping but unfortunately there was a power cut at that particular shop so we have had to postpone that trip till Thursday.
We had a quiet start to the day, catching up with laundry etc. We walked into town to get a replacement suitcase for Sheri as the wheels on hers were a bit dodgy and we didn't want to risk it on the return journey.
The weather has turned a lot cooler today and the wind makes it seem worse. Mind you it is meant to get down to 12 degrees on Friday (top temperature).
This afternoon Sheri and her Uncle Alan went off to the driving range and I took the opportunity to catch up with one of the neighbours for a laugh and a chat.
Tonight we walked down to Leanne and Daniel's for a couple of hours. With it not getting dark till 11 pm the evenings are long so it was good to have something to do.
Tomorrow we are heading back into Edinburgh and I am meeting a friend from Newcastle Upon Tyne for lunch. We have never met but have been chatting via the internet for many years. Later on in the day an old school friend is meeting us and we are having coffee at Toby's workplace. I haven't seen her since 1969 so we will have a lot to catch up with.
After Toby finishes work at 6pm we are heading to the Walkabout Pub to watch a replay of the State of Origin which will be fun. Go the Mighty Maroons!!
