Hey, il y a un petit mot en francais a la fin pour ceux a qui l'anglais donne mal a la tete ![]()
I'm back from my 5 days in Idaho!! As you'll see from the pictures, there was lots of snow and it was stunning!!! Unfortunately, I couldn't take more pictures of those beautiful landscapes. Well, it took us a looooong time to get there but it was definitely worth it. It was my first american road trip and I must say although it was very tiring, it was great fun. Roads here are big and easy to drive unlike in Europe so 8 hours on the road is definitely much easier than let's say 2 hours on a road in the UK.
I was very lucky to be able to meet Luke and Eva, they were both on the tour I did last year in Scotland for my 30th birthday. It was so weird to see them but also so nice. And what a coincidence but somehow Jen has a connection with them. Her grandfather used to live where Eva grew up so he knows Eva's father! Small world... Anyway, I never thought last year when Luke and Eva said that if one day we were going to Idaho we could come and visit them, it would happen and not so quickly. Idaho is probably as big as England so what was the chance that we were going to drive 10mns from where they live!!!
Luke and Eva took me around their hometown for a day, it couldn't have been better! We went for a sleigh ride to see elks living in their natural habitat. It was awesome! We were not allowed to pat them which was very frustrating!!! If you don't know what an elk is, just look at the pictures!
With Jen's family, we stayed in her grandfather's cabin up in the mountains. It was so cosy and so full of charm. I experienced how remote you can live in the States, to be honest, it is very nice for a week or two but I wouldn't live there. Although there was lots of snow, it wasn't that cold, the sun was out most of the time.
So this is now my last evening in Portland at Jen's parents'. Tomorrow Jen and I we are flying to San Francisco where I'll be until the 10th of April. It feels weird to be heading to this mythic city, I don't really realise yet...
Before finishing, bad news, I have been scammed on internet...
a very bad story... I have been too happy and therefore too trusting... I'm not sure how much I have lost so far but at the worst $500 which is really bad to be honest but I will do my best not to let it spoil my trip which is going so well apart from that bad experience.
Oh and in case you wonder why "Idaho potatoe", well Idaho is famous for its potatoes!
Grrrrrr....

Big Bisouxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A trop vite.
