Salt Flats in Uyuni and the Wild West in Tupiza
August 29, 2009 - Salta, Argentina
We got an overnight bus from La Paz to Uyuni, which might possibly be classed as the worst night of my life now. The bus was freezing, there was ice on the inside of the windows, and the bus driver was speeding down windy, bumpy roads for the entire journey, I couldnt sleep at all due to the fear and at one point, even though I´m not religous at all, I prayed. We got to the little sleepy town at 6am, it was defintalely below freezing and nowhere was open! Paul and I had to jump in a taxi and...

Salta
July 21, 2009 - Salta, Argentina
We arrived into Argintina, after crossing in via the North (from Bolivia, via a Dinghy in the early hours of the morning). We eventually found the Argintina border control. They did a bit of a bag search (thank god we gave away that TNT dynamite in Potosi 2 days ago !!), and then had a bit of an upset with Murray (because he had a UK and Australian passport with him which apparently most Latin american countries don´t permit dual citizenship). Eventually we got stamped in - Murray is now...

High deserts and Treks
July 7, 2009 - Salta, Argentina
We've been busy travelling once again, so there's plenty to tell you. Most importantly......pictures are up! Tucuman turned out to be a lot less interesting that we'd hoped it might be, so despite the foul cold that Anthony was suffering from we decided to leave after one night. We managed to get a open ticket along the more interesting of the two routes to Salta, which headed west through the mountains and some truely spectacular views. The first town we stopped at was Tafi del Valle. Its a...

12) Salta, Argentina
May 24, 2009 - Salta, Argentina
Salta appeared to be much larger than we expected. It has a lovely centre with elegant plazas, many old colonial buildings and lot's of really nice bars and restaurants. While strolling through the little Sunday market we soon realized that people look different here, they haven't got this European touch anymore. Upon our arrival we found out that the tren a las nubes (train to the clouds) that seemed to be on the must do list has only just reopened after a long time. We felt lucky at first,...

Argentina - Salta & Iguazu
February 2, 2009 - Salta, Argentina
Hey, Sorry its been a while coming.... So into Argentina and to a lovely city Salta, it was a 6hr bus tip from the border! The city has a nice setting in the mountains only 1200m up though so low compared to what we have been use to! We walked round the city and relaxed the first day then the second day we went to see St Bernardo a statue on a nearby hill that gave great views of the city and mountains! We got the cable car up then walked down! the next day we had decided to go to Iguazu...
