I arrived in melbourne and booked into a cheap hotel having left behind mos of the people I knew in australia back in sydney - It was a daunting feeling as I basically knew on one in the city. But at least I had some work lined up with decent money to help me save a bit more for making my way around the country and home! Rose - Just gettin those last minute jobs done - bulk rubbish out, waxing, nails, paying bills, washing, cancelling the paper and generally feeling (foolishly) organised. Tennis tonight with Fiona, Lu, & Sheens -if we win we stay in 3rd position, yahoo. Also very sad, the gardener chopped down the wrong tree for bulk rubbish - deciduous not dead!!!! Mooie liedjes duren niet lang en aan alles komt een eind. Ook aan ons verblijf in Australie. Het is dan ook tijd om met pijn in het hart afscheid te nemen van dit mooie land. Daarnaast moeten we ook opnieuw afscheid nemen van onze dochter die hier nog 7 maand blijft. Het is dan ook niet verwonderlijk dat we een traan moesten wegpinken. Ondertussen zijn we terug thuis en hebben we ons vol ijver gestort op het opkuisen van onze tuin, die op die 2 maanden tijd een echte jungle geworden is.

Een lui-lekker-dagje en naar Palm Beach

Omdat door de voorbije dagen in Sydney mijn zakgeld redelijk geslonken was, had ik enkele mailtjes verstuurd naar fruitkwekers waar men op zoek was naar plukkers. Die zondagochtend kreeg ik een telefoontje van een lieve dame uit Melbourne die een plukster zocht omdat het meisje dat er op dat mom ent werkte plots terug naar Duitsland moest. Natuurlijk zei ik ja tegen deze kans en ik werd dus zo snel mogelijk in Melbourne verwacht. Die zondag zou dus mijn (voorlopig) laatste dag in Sydney zijn....
