WIckham River Crossing to Marella Gorge
September 4, 2008 - Marella Gorge, Australia
After waking up I first took a refreshing swim in the river and then had breakfast. After the daily checks of the Troopy I crossed the river and continued to the southern border of the Gregory NP. The track remained interesting with many dry creek crossings. The sousern border of the station is also the border of a station. From there on the...

LImestone Creek to Wickham Crossing, Gregory NP
September 3, 2008 - Wickham River Crossing Gregory Np, Australia
I had an early breakfast and then made a walk along the escarpment of the gorge. After that I left to travel south through the Gregory NP. The first part of the day the boabs were abundant, I find it interesting shapes for photos.   The track was a truly 4WD affair, I traveled 130 km and that took the whole day. The area is mountainous in the Australian way: steep en low. Once...

Everything fine for the next rough tracks. Late in the afternoon I fixed an electrical problem with the auxiliary battery.   While waiting for the Troopy at the...

Gunlom Falls and back to Katherine
August 31, 2008 - Katherine, Australia
In the morning I walked to the upper pools of the Gunlom Falls. It is a steep climb, but very rewarding. I walked about half a kilometer upstream to where the river was not more than a narrow stream and took some good photos. The upper pool was also an excellent place for an early morning swim.   Early morning is the best time to climb the...
