Darwin - 3 July - 1 December 2012
December 1, 2012 - Darwin, Australia
We stayed in Darwin a total of 5 months over the Dry season and the Build Up - probably the worst time to be in the tropics! While in Darwin, Pete & I both got jobs and the kids went back into school. We stayed at 3 caravan parks in that time inc. Lee Point Caravan Park - Run down, not orderly and just not our cup of tea - lasted 1 week Free Spirit Caravan Park - very nice, clean, lots for the kids to do $427 p/wk - lasted 6 weeks Oasis Caravan Park - Very small, but nice and clean, good...

Howard Springs
November 4, 2012 - Darwin, Australia
Well another week at work and now for a visit to Howard Springs. It is a lovely family area with a new playground and man made rock pools. We spent a few hours having a picnic lunch, a splash in the pool and rock pools and the kids had a play on the equipment. They especially loved the flying foxes. All of this is only 5 miuntes from the caravan park.

Mud Racing - Darwin 27th October 2012
October 27, 2012 - Darwin, Australia
Well we went to the Mud Racing and had no idea what to expect. We soon learnt why you should always take a change of clothes for the kids (as can b seen in the photo!). Zac was covered head to toe with mud and needed to have a shower before we left the grounds. Zoe played chicken with the cars and mud and came out on top. It was a really fun night and really family friendly. Kids under 10 are free and you take along your eski with what ever you like (no glass) and a chair/rug and settle in...

Days 25-30 Darwin & Litchfield National Park
August 16, 2012 - Darwin, Australia
Darwin was fabulous. Was so nice to catch up with the lovely Emma & Quentin whom we stayed with. The sight seeing is endless and so much to do with the kids. After fixing a few caravan and car issues and spent the first afternoon at Darwin Harbour, where the kids had great fun swimming in the netted lagoon. From there we explored the Darwin Museum with all it's fabulous natural history including Sweatheart the Croc and Cyclone Tracey exhibition. In the evening we walked along Mindil Beach,...

August 25, 2011 - Darwin, Australia
Darwin saw us staying at Free Spirit Resort and Caravan Park (near Palmerston) meeting up with Chris, Lisa, Cate and Jack our Dandenong’s friends we originally met at Croydon in QLD.  We last met up with them in Mataranka.  This time we had the site right next to them which had the kids delighted.  Aiden was quick to give Cate a huge hug which she didn’t mind one bit.    We had decided prior to arriving in Darwin that this was going to be a relaxing 4 days.  We enjoyed ourselves...
