Ketchikan
July 5, 2009 - Prince Rupert, Canada
July 3rd, 2009 Another beautiful day in Ketchikan. The July, 4th festivities have started. I think a lot of people in Ketchikan were off work today because the 4th falls on a Saturday this year. When I left the hostel this morning, the streets were pretty much empty of traffic. Again, I have not been able to find a good breakfast café, so I stopped at good old reliable McDonalds. After a McGriddle, I tried riding north. I’ve been told that the north road goes about 10 miles. It does and...

Ketchikan.....Finally!
July 2, 2009 - Prince Rupert, Canada
Writing today’s report is difficult. I’m not quite sure which end of the day I should begin with. Actually, I think I should start with last night so this becomes Prince Rupert, Pt. 2. I walked around Prince Rupert for the better part of the evening, waiting for the fireworks in the land of the midnight sun. By the time it got to be 10 PM, I was getting tired. Canada Day, 2009
July 1, 2009 - Prince Rupert, Canada
Several weeks ago, as I passed through Jasper, Alberta, sorry it just seems like it was weeks ago, actually it was just last Saturday night. Anyway, at the motel there I asked the desk clerk how I could get heat in the room. He said he’d send a maintenance guy by to see me. Troy, the maintenance guy, told me that the building was on “neutral” right them. When I asked what that was, even though I knew, he explained that since it was summer, the heat was turned off. Since it wasn’t...

Finally, Prince Rupert!
June 30, 2009 - Prince Rupert, Canada
Once again I’ve had some internet difficulties but here in Prince Rupert, there’s about 5 wireless networks and I just kept clicking on them until I found one to take me to the internet. Last night, I asked the guy at the motel where there was a good café that served breakfast. He said that there was only one and point to a place just up the street. After my internet problems, I decided that I wanted to be shed of Hazelton so I left around 7:30, headed for Terrace and my first DQ stop...

WE'RE WALKING ON SUNSHINE ... WOO-OH!
May 30, 2007 - Prince Rupert, Canada
We've arrived safely in Prince Rupert after our 10-day trip on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) and have finally found an Internet cafe to update you on all our adventures. To those who have been living vicariously through our travels, sorry for the delay.
Also, we make reference to various pictures in the following entry, but we are running out of time and won't get them posted today (those slow Windows operating systems, you know). We should have them up and more stories in a few...
