Volcan Pacaya
August 4, 2011 - Antigua, Guatemala
What a day. It began at 2am very emotional as I had to say my goodbyes. Rosita and I cried like babies; I am going to miss her. We got so close over this time. The Director drove me three hours to the capital city where I was going to take a bus to Antigua, Guatemala which was created by the Spaniards to resemble Spain. Again, I cried while saying goodbye. I was in the city. In the capital, there aren't any chickens and cows running the streets. But I was disturbed to see the barbed...

AntiguAcatenango! (épisode 2)
January 21, 2011 - Antigua, Guatemala
Toutes les photos / pictures: click here. Dans la série "Grimpons tous les volcans d'Amérique Centrale un à un!", aujourd'hui le chef vous propose... Acatenango! Je ne sais pas comment je vais tout faire tenir dans un...

After we arrived in Antigua, we decided to visit the next day the Sunday Market in Chichicastenango. We had a great time, witnessed the Sunday church procession with lots of super loud firecrackers, enjoyed the colorful surrounding and the special market vibe. Watching locals selling tourist belts, bags etc was another entertainment. End of the day some tourist were dressed up from head to toe in traditional Guatemalan clothes, of course including there original handwoven handbag....

Exploring Guatemala - and a cheeky side
September 3, 2010 - Antigua, Guatemala
Friday, 27th August - Lake Atitlan The tour of the lake takes in 3 small towns, San Pedro, Santiago and San Antonia. The boat is a bit late in leaving, but it's no big deal. The passengers are mostly Spanish speaking tourists, I speak with two girls from Uruguay, who are having a few days in Panajachel before starting a course in Antigua about the affects of global warming. There is another lad from UK, he is just starting a one year round the world tour. He laughs when I tell him I am just...
