25th October Jaipur-Agra Dead Body slows Journey

Journey very long and hot(9.5 hrs) Came to a small Muslim village to find police barring our way,quickly turned around and parked up. In parking area a bus had had a stone through window a few mins. before, the problem was the village had been needing a new buriel site ,so as a protest had laid out body (shrouded ) on main road and blocked it. Anyway after about half an hour more police arrived and order was restored and we went on our way.Arrived Agra nice hotel city very dirty its claim...

Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve - 24th Oct

Our second game drive The tiger reserve is some 400 sq km and home to around 40 tiger. This coupled with the fact that tiger sightings reduce to 30% in the month of October meant that we only had a small chance of a sighting. It was kind of a quick run through the cities, but we saw what we could of Varanasi and Agra in 4 days. It was a little crazy, but here it goes. Varanasi is known for its Ghats, which are the many, many, many steps leading from the streets down to the river Ganges. Our first real day of the tour started with a 4:45am wake up call. We were on a 6:15 train from Delhi to Agra, home of a Wonder of the World, the Taj Mahal. It's sooo beautiful! It's even nicer in real life! I spent the afternoon inside the gardens yesterday just staring in astonishment - you could sit there for hours! And then I watched the sunset. It's so amazing, it's not just beautiful but magical and the atmosphere is incredible. Today has been really good fun as I bumped into two spanish girls, one is from Madrid!
