Agra- Taj Mahal and more!
June 29, 2010 - Agra, India
The Taj Mahal doesn’t only live up to expectation, it exceeds it! I normally see pictures of the Taj with the pool in front of it, but I think a lot of its beauty and detail gets lost from this shot. It only gets better and better as you get closer! Definite highlight of India. Haha, it was funny though because while I was taking pictures of the Taj, a bunch of people were taking pictures of me. Sometimes they would ask to be in a picture with me, but most of the time I would just see a...

Varanasi and Agra, India
February 7, 2009 - Agra, India
It was kind of a quick run through the cities, but we saw what we could of Varanasi and Agra in 4 days. It was a little crazy, but here it goes. Varanasi is known for its Ghats, which are the many, many, many steps leading from the streets down to the river Ganges. As you know the Ganges is considered holy, so almost every activity you can think of takes place there. Most importantly people come there to perform "puja", which is a ritual that involves cleaning the body in the river and...

Taj Mahal
February 12, 2008 - Agra, India
Dave: Our first real day of the tour started with a 4:45am wake up call. We were on a 6:15 train from Delhi to Agra, home of a Wonder of the World, the Taj Mahal. Watching the sunrise from the train, with the fog hovering over the fields was quite nice. The train is a great way to see the countryside. Although, at times I saw more than I wanted to. The tracks went through some very impoverished areas and it seems that it is normal for men to be squating, doing their morning 'business' near...
