somewhere in the Indian Ocean a day away land
November 13, 2009 - Goa, India
Last day at sea-just finished last bridge class for this trip-7 hold overs from last cruise (Rome-Dubai). Last segment had more bridge students and they seemed to be more attentive but we have had more bridge players this cruise-(Dubai-Singapor) 11 tables yesterday.  All seem to be enjoying what I have to impart. We have the same table mates this cruise as last one and are very compatible.  We play social bridge every night in the library as most of us are not into the entertainment...

Somewhere in the Indian Ocean
November 11, 2009 - Goa, India
3 days at sea now; choppy seas and 'barf' bags everywhere: I am fine as I never get seasick. Just finished bridge class.  Susan tells me my photos did not have name tags although they did post which I did not realize.  If you got a repeat of the Pyramids, then after those was the Suez Canal, Dubai, Mumbai, Goa and the churches.  Whatever!  Hope you enjoy them?  It is a very different world over here and the poverty is about the worst I have ever seen. We are quite fortunate to live in...

here in rainy Cochin
November 10, 2009 - Goa, India
The monsoons are still here in cochin; I have never seen so much rain.  I got soaked walking to the synagogue where I never got to, as it was not yet open and there was a downpour.  It is located in 'Jewtown'-not politically correct but we are in India. Just finished an ayurvedic massage; oil is dripped all over you from your hair to your toes.  Quite relaxing and wonderful. 3 sea days coming up and then Phuket, Thailand. Hope all are fine! Love, Mom, Barbara

hello from Goa, india
November 9, 2009 - Goa, India
A bit drizzly and humid but we shall survive.  bought a sari; now to figure out how to wrap myself in it. First place we have been taken advantage of; 9poor grammar, hired a taxi, agreed on a price and ended up in old Goa with the driver demanding more money or get out of the cab; the nice, good looking young driver became mr. Evil.  After calming marge down we went on and are now in the city of Vasco named after the explorer, Vasco de Game. Tomorrow Cochin and the longed for , wonderful...

White page
September 3, 2009 - Goa, India
"If you want to paint, close your eyes and dance" Pablo Picasso. Since I can remember, I always kept a notebook. Mixed with scribbles and sentences, my diaries were my peace of mind, my breath of fresh air. The white page was my companion, my best friend, the one to go to when all else seemed like a galaxy aways. The white page was always there for me. It understood me in silence, listening and watching everything i needed to share. The pages got ripped to pieces, they got burned, and...
