June 26, 2010 - Jaipur, India
Originally we were going to stay 3 nights in Jaipur, but it ended up not being that great of a city, so we only stayed for two nights. We find a cheap hotel near the bus station that has singles for $3. The room is tiny with just a bed, a chair, an end table, and a ceiling fan. No windows and no distractions. I was actually very happy about this because I haven’t been sleeping well, and I thought the boring room would be good for catching up on sleep. The bathroom, however, was...

Incredible India
May 11, 2010 - Jaipur, India
Its our last day in India, always a mixed moment. You are happy to be going back to a place where you don't have to haggle for everything and you can drink the water. Then you look out at the pandemonium of the streets and you know that there is nowhere else quite like it, and that you will be back. Our first stop in north India was Varanasi. Its a very interesting town, well, the area around the banks of the Ganges is. The rest of the town is nothing special. There is so much going on down...

Jaipur and Agra
May 12, 2009 - Jaipur, India
We now seem to have gotten used to the Indian way of life and are now quite cocky with getting rickashaws and barterring.  We have seen beautiful Elephants and mental monkeys along the way. The last few days have been spent at Rajastan in Jaipur, very very hot indeed and at times did test our patience especially when going round temples for hours with our guide, Raj.  Jordan called Raj "cockeral"  as he strutted round the Amber fort like it was his own home.  He especially made me...

Delhi, Agra et Jaipur, le triangle d'or
February 23, 2009 - Jaipur, India

February 15, 2009 - Jaipur, India
After yet another night train (this one was only 12 hours) we had some time to kill until our flight down to Mumbai and decided to see what we could of Jaipur. We got off our train, stashed our bags, and after talking to about a dozen drivers arranged an auto-rickshaw to take us around all day. Jaipur is commonly referred to as the pink city because, as you can see by the pictures, most of the buildings are pink. It was really quite neat to see. We started the day early by Indian standards...
