Co. Sligo - Carrowmore
June 12, 2016 - Sligo, Ireland

On the Way to Sligo
August 1, 2011 - Sligo, Ireland
Leaving Dublin, we took all day to go the usual 2 1/2 hour drive to Sligo. We stopped a few places (see pictures) and took our time. Driving is unusual, to say the least. Not only is it on the left hand side of the road, but some roads are extremely narrow and curvy. It's unnerving when you come around a narrow curve and a car seems to be coming head on at you. I was truly ready to pack up and leave last night (er, this morning), but he's a nice guy and I'm glad I gave him a chance to make it right. I was pure knackered when I drove off in search of Mebh and...

Back with the Republicans
June 26, 2010 - Sligo, Ireland
Yay, my B&B has a computer for guests! It's wonderful to be back in the Republic: the fields have the same infinitely sweet smell of wildflowers, grasses, and earth; the rolling hills, the curving roads, the clouds wheeling by, the names on the land, the music of English improved upon (the granddaughter of the Emperor of Japan begins summer study in Dublin in July - she's to learn English there. Don't ya love it - she'll speak it with an Irish lilt!), but my heart's not full until I'm on free...
