We arrived in Madaba in a nice hotel that had a swimming pool and so decided to make this our base for the remainder of our time in Jordan. (Swimming pools in hotels are a rare thing in Jordan.) For our last three days in Jordan, we decided to base ourselves in Madaba, a smaller city than Amman, nearer the international airport, and a great base for exploring some of the holy sites near the Jordan River and the Dead Sea.
