WOW - what a week!!! We finished off our last journal entry leaving Thailand over a week ago. We took the easy way out and booked a package from our Chiang Mai Guesthouse that got us all the way over the Thai-Laos border (with a 1-night stay in a VERY forgettable guesthouse) and the 2-day slow boat journey down the Mekong River to Luang...

Overnight bus journeys

You can get a whole bus of 'normal' people, but theres guaranteed to be at least one weirdo sitting within my hearing distance. Or if I'm lucky, right next to me. Working for PGL has upped my tolerance of lengthy bus journeys and I can even survive on a coach full of kids. An overnight journey from New York to Toronto (sep 2004) left me scarred...
