Fame or Infamy
June 6, 2009 - Amsterdam, Netherlands
We arrived in Sixhaven in Amsterdam having read the books and seeing it strongly recommended as THE place where visitors have to go to. It is meant to be tree lined – although the books do mention that the metro is being built nearby!! The trees are gone and replaced by a road with the structure for the new train so it has lost some of its charm but it does have a washing machine and Wifi and is very convenient for the centre being only a free ferry ride away form Central Station. March 30, 2009 - Amsterdam, Netherlands
This weekend’s adventure was to Holland and Belgium. It was an early start Friday morning, again. I woke at 4:30 to be at a bus pick up point at 6:15am. June 28, 2008 - Amsterdam, Netherlands
After they spent the day in Brussels, Dave, Keller, and Eric took the train to the Netherlands and met us at Boudines house on Friday morning. We took the train into Amsterdam and spent the day walking around and checking out the city. We toured the Tulip museum as well as the Red Light District and many streets in between. Amsterdam is a unique city and the Red Light District was much different than I pictured it. It was really open and there were a lot of people there, including little...
