Abel Tasman Nationalpark
December 5, 2009 - Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand

November 5, 2009 - Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand
In Picton angekommen machten...

January 12, 2009 - Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand
Blisters the size of pennies, joints and muscles screaming, and the smell.... yes, we have just finished three days on the Abel Tasman Coastal Track. Although we were in the best shape of our lives two months ago, the Vermont winter seems to have set us back a bit, and we were doggin' it! The...

Now we're wine snobs!
December 7, 2008 - Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand
Yesterday was a great day out, again on bikes but this time on the road, stopping off at as many of the vineyards in the area that time would allow and sampling the various Chardonnay's Savignon Blanc, Pinot Noir etc etc. No we weren't being irresponsible - it's what people do in that area! Not only was there the assortment of between 6-8 wines per winery, there were also various olive oils to dip bread cubes into before covering with a spicy crushed nut mixture - very tasty! Then there was...

Frodo and Sam go walking
December 7, 2008 - Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand
We arrived in Lord of the Rings country last Monday night ready to tackle the Tongariro Alpine Crossing the following day. Only problem was it was raining when we arrived at our hostel and the forecast for the folowing day was rubbish too! The crossing is one of the best one day walks in NZ, 18km long and traverses the Tongariro national park famous for Mount Ngauruhoe (Mount 'Doom' in Lord of the Rings) and the 2 other volcanoes (Tongariro and Ruapehu). We decided we'd go for it anyway...
