Queenstown
January 23, 2010 - Queenstown, New Zealand
The coach journey here was ridiculous, it took us 12 hours but we stopped four times for an hour! Everyone is getting really peed off now with all the stops that we had to do! Its good to be in queenstown though, although its small there is lots to do! So far I have found a gym and gone to some classes, took a walk around the huge lake where Rod Stewart has a house, been on the shotever jet which was sooooo much fun heading towards the rocks and then skimming them by inches as the boat...

Arthurs Point
December 11, 2009 - Queenstown, New Zealand
Which we haven't figured out yet. Drove from Frans place and we are now at Arthurs joint just outside of Queenstown. Fairly heafty drive but seen some fantastic mountains after the rain had stopped and the clouds lifted. Very picturesque. Queenstown so busy compaired to what we have been accustomed to over the last few days. Lots of young things toing & froing and probably all called Brad, even the girls. Our campsite is looking onto the mountains and its very scotland-looking...

South Island
December 9, 2009 - Queenstown, New Zealand
After our wwoofing week it was time to head down to the South Island. At first we were toying with the idea of not going to the South Island as the cost of the ferry is so high, NZ$430 return for a three hour trip. Still, we decided that we had to go and after our farm week off we went. Our first stop was at Nelson, where we stayed with Servas hosts for a couple of nights. Again we had very nice hosts and a fine time was had by all, and fine weather as well. Our next stop was to have been a...

WWOOF
December 9, 2009 - Queenstown, New Zealand
One thing I have discovered is that its harder to keep a blog up to date when camping. It was much easier in South America when we had a room every night. We last spoke when we were in the geothermal region and the Tongariro park. From there we continued southwards. From there we went to our WWOOF farm. Our what?, I hear you say. WWOOF stands for Willing Workers On Organic Farms, a snappy acronym for a rotten name. Its an organisation through which you can work as a voluneer on an organic...

Routeburn Track
December 5, 2009 - Queenstown, New Zealand
