Made the drive from Franz Josef stopping in Haast ('H-arsed-t'.. Hurray for words pronounced with R's!) on the way for some genuine NZ whitebait patties... Which were GROSS... Like a weird omlette with whitebait in, sandwiched between cheap bread.. And the guy wouldn't let me put ketchup on it... Hmmpf. To lovely, lovely Wanaka... As beautiful...
