Last Week in Monteverde
March 8, 2016 - Granada, Nicaragua
My last week in Monteverde began with an extremely fun birthday party on Sunday night! Unfortunately it ended up being right after Nannie and Grandpa left because of everyone's crazy work schedules due to the visiting groups, but in a way it was nice to have both: a special dinner on my actual birthday with them and then a party later with all of the friends I met here. Ali, Luis, Randy, Luke, Mark, my Spanish teacher Jessie, and of course Maricella and Maya were all there. For dinner we had...

Cock a doodle do
February 18, 2013 - Granada, Nicaragua
I remember being disappointed that the chicken bus didn´t have a chicken on it. Well when we travelled here to Granada we got on public transport. There was a lot of clucking going on but I actually thought it was the ring tone on someone´s phone. To my delight there was a cock on the bus. In a bag. La Fortuna, Costa Rica - not fortunate for me
August 15, 2010 - Granada, Nicaragua
Saturday, 7th August - Monte Verde to La Fortuna, Costa Rica I arrive in La Fortuna at 11am, after a 3 hour bus/boat/bus journey through dense coffee plantations and rainforest. The scenery was stunning and the weather stayed dry for the whole trip. This is a popular route between the rich vegetation of Monte Verde and the volcano town of La Fortuna. Small minibuses drop their passengers at the lake, the boat takes them to the other side, and new buses take the tourists to their preferred...

July 8, 2009 - Granada, Nicaragua
Lieve kijkbuiskinderen!
