More Peruvian adventures
February 7, 2010 - Arequipa, Peru
Hola amigos. We are coming to you live from the warm and rocky cactus-town of Arequipa in southern Peru. Apparently we are television stars in Australia care of channel 7 news and a local natural disaster, so we decided to leave Cusco before our stardom got too out of hand. We thought that the best way to celebrate surviving our first trek would be to book in for another one! Before that however we made a few days' stopover in Puno to visit Lake Titicaca (loving that name!). Within an hour of...

Safe and thankful
January 29, 2010 - Cusco, Peru
Hi all, Just a quick one to say that we are now back in Cusco and safe and extremely happy to be back. Thank you for all of your messages, concerns and well-wishes. Firstly, we have just had the most unbelievable experience hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. A 4 night trek became a 3 night trek with 15km per day of hiking up and down the magnificent Andes, with two peaks of 4200m and 4000m above sea level. It was only once we reached Machu Picchu on the final day that we had any idea...

Being enchanted by Cusco (and drenched by Iguazu)
January 22, 2010 - Cusco, Peru
Hello loved ones, We have been spinning in a whirlwind of enchantment and Nature´s beauty in far away lands. Since our last entry when TK joined Pinni on this magical adventure, we have explored Buenos Aires where we learnt to tango, seen Iguazu Falls (which included a brief appearance in Brazil), and made our way North (both in longitude and altitude) to Cusco in Peru. Please check out our photos which each tell a story or two, and saves you having to read too much on this entry. Click on...

Flying to the heights of Cuzco
October 12, 2009 - Cusco, Peru
For this leg of the journy we have flown up to dizzying height of 3500m above sea level. Cuzco turned out to be a really touristy city. There were more gringos on the street then locals. It was nice to have a few people talking in english though. It saves me accidently asking where I can buy a prostitute from instead of water. Yes that really did happen in Lima. We took a day trip out of the city and headed for a place called the Sacred Valley. Here were some ruins from the inka period. One...

Finally some green in the window
October 8, 2009 - Arequipa, Peru
Well it has only taken the best part of a week, but we have finally moved beyond the dry, lifeless desert that is South Peru. There are smal shrubs, blue skys and apparently gum trees. Go figure. Well I can't say that the trip to get here was the most plesent one I have ever had. 9 hours on an overnight bus, where every time the guy in front of me moved, I ended up with a bruise on my knees. Having said that our time in Ariquipa is the most entertaining yet. And also has the best...
