Lima (Again)
October 7, 2009 - Lima, Peru
Lima was pretty uneventful. We are not that keen on the city so basicly went straight to the same hostel we stayed at last time we were here.  We had left a whole heap of things last time so we changed over our summer gear for our winter gear (we´re heading down to the southern regions of the continent) and pretty much just chilled at the hostel.  We had a flight to catch the next day so simply got ready for that.

September 4, 2009 - Lima, Peru
Well we had run into a lot of travellers that had not had the best reviews about Lima so we were not so keen to stay long.  We arrived into the central part and within the hour we had locals tell us to be increadably careful as there are heaps of people that will rob us here....  What a great start!  We took a taxi to Miraflores which is meant to be the better part of town to find a place to stay.  Again we left the luggage with one of us and the other ran around...  We had to find one...

Lima
July 25, 2009 - Lima, Peru
Arrived after a looooong journey which included a 14 hour flight to brazil then another 6 hours to Peru! We arrived in what can only be described as a ghost town! Lima is quite possibly the weirdest place we've ever been, there is nobody around and the place is so run down, it looks like it used to be beautiful, with big grand buildings, but now they are all derelict, with no windows. We were starving when we arrived but quickly learnt no one speaks english and no restaurants have the...

wooo this week flew by! we had classes each morning from 9-1 which went well, then had some sort of trip around Lima every afternoon. On Wednesday we went to Callao, a province separate from Lima but located inside of the region. We visited Fortaleza Real Felipe, which was used in the Peruvian war of independence. They had a really cool museum and towers and such. Afterwards we went to the coast and tried picarones (like fried dough)...yummmy. Later that night we headed over to Jenny and...

July 15, 2009 - Lima, Peru
Yesterday was our first day of spanish classes at Catolica. Jen and I took a cab at 8:30 and met the others in the classrooms. We didn't do much for the first day, just took a sort of entrance exam and met the professors. Afterwards we ate lunch at the cafesteria and met Evely who took us  Miraflores for a tour of the area. We took a ride on an open-air tour bus around Miraflores and saw the different parts, from the buildings to the coast, and even got hit by some tree branches on the...
