A fairly seamless hook up to rent a car at the Lisbon airport. Drove to Porto on the first cloudy and partly rainy day since July 23rd in Thunder Bay. The city was much bigger than we thought. Had to stop on the way up and this proved to be a problem...too many traffic circles (Tim definitely round-about challenged) and no parking spaces! So, we said good bye to Barcelona and all the street performers, squadron of police with machine guns, honking horns and late night partiers who have just gone to bed...arrived at bus station and almost missed bus because of a run around at the bus station...apparently booking on-line doesn't mean anything! the best part about lisbon: WARM! i had never realized how cold europe was until my spring break trip. when i landed in lisbon i was so happy to be hit with 72 and sunny weather! the first day we wandered around and checked into our hostel which had a working disco ball in it! excellent! we went and got beers on a terrace that overlooked the river and people just sat in the grass all around relaxing. since lisbon doesnt have an actual beach, many people just park themselves in the grass and...
