Melaka
August 28, 2010 - Singapore, Singapore
Melaka was a last minute decision for my travels as I would have liked to go to the east of Malaysia but didn't want to have too much travelling around. Melaka was a quiet and relaxed town, such a difference from the hustle and bustle of KL. So I stayed here for 3 nights and 3 days. I didn't get up to an awful lot but in all honesty there wasn't a lot to do. So it was nice to just leisurely stroll around the old colonial buildings, china town and the modern malls. It was interesting to see...

Prologue, Singapore
July 1, 2010 - Singapore, Singapore
Day three of the tour, it is currently pissing down with rain, the little dog is farting around with his camera which is the absolute bomb and Tman is sending his video camera back to Aus after it proved to be not so water proof. Yesterday, we went for our first run, good way to see the city. Covered about 5 km in 25minutes, a lot of stops due to the traffic lights. After beaky which were some sort of lentils complementary of the house, we headed out to Sentosa beach. Which the travellers...

Final farwell to Aussie soil
June 29, 2010 - Singapore, Singapore
Leaving the airport yesterday was tough, fighting mixed emotion. Excited to be heading out into the big wide world and the adventures I will encounter, but on the other hand I was leaving someone very special behind plus my dog. Had an early start to get down to the airport, thanks Holly, Jeni, Mum, Dad, Karen, Wes and gorgeous Eliza for seeing me off. The flight was ok, small meals not much leg room but a window seat that was meant for Pretz but I beat him to it. Scotch on the rocks and...

My future trip aboard the Queen Victoria
May 22, 2010 - Singapore, Singapore
We will sail out of Southampton aboard the beautiful 2 year old Cunard ship, the Queen Victoria. I will again be teaching and directing bridge although the Brits play a different system so I have had to learn and brush up my skills. I understand this is quite a formal ship with high tea daily Hopefully I will be able to download photos as we go along. Hasta la vista for now, Barbara

SINGAPORE
February 26, 2010 - Singapore, Singapore
Wow! What an eye-opener! I would venture to say that, so far, Singapore is the port that has shocked me the most! It was the complete and utter opposite of everything I had believed it to be! I was completely surprised by every single thing that I saw. I suppose I should have known better, after all, one of my sisters’ great friends, Nicole, lives there! Of course she wouldn’t reside in the poverty stricken, temple-filled, Lombok-like city that I had pictured in my head! Maybe I’ve been...
