Day 36 (Home again, home again, jiggety jig)

This was the last day of a really memorable journey. We were up early, packed up and drove the 120 km to Springbok where we stopped for a huge breakfast. For the first time in a long time, there were now clouds in the sky. Day 4
August 25, 2012 - Cape Town, South Africa
Travelled 464 Km today. We're in the tropics and it's hot!We got up early and drove to the bird hide in the Sanctuary which is at a lovely waterhole. We intended to spend half an hour before breakfast, but ended up being there 1 and a half hours. Lots of birds and animals were coming down to drink. Day 3
August 24, 2012 - Cape Town, South Africa
Weather is now much hotter. Travelled 618 kn today. We got up early nad drove to Mafikeng and spent a fruitless hour in the Standard bank trying to change USD to Pula whihc we eventually did at great expense at the border. So we reached the boroder at around noon and found the S African staff very warm and helpful. we had to declare all our photgraphic equipment, laptop, etc asn their value. Preparing to leave

This being the first time we have tried blogging, this is a preliminary run. We are getting ready to leave on our long awaited trip into Africa. 2 more 'sleeps' and we're off!!! On Monday we leave early in the morning, hoping to make Britstown or Hopetown and camp there for a night before moving on to the Botswana Border.
