El Escorial, Cordoba, and Granada
October 20, 2012 - Granada, Spain
The weekend after I went to Morocco I stayed in Madrid and did a day trip with my class to El Escorial. This is where the crypt is for all of the past Kings and Queens of Spain. The building on the outside doesn’t appear too grand, but it is huge, with four huge court yards with in it, as well as an incredible church. The only downside was that I wasn’t allowed to take pictures inside, even though I did sneak a few! The art collections of the Spanish Royals were also on display...

Granada: Snowy Mountains, a Pony, and El Alhambra
May 3, 2011 - Granada, Spain
The train to Granada was especially winding. The hills in Andalucia were beginning to get more dramatic once I passed the fields. Long road trips are more of my style since I went on so many in Southern California two summers ago, so the 3 hour ride was perfect. getting to granada
December 8, 2010 - Granada, Spain
nuria, scott and i caught the bus into seville the next day to pick up our hire car. we were going to hire it in nuria's name, as we figured she would be driving it most of the time (scott hadn't driven on the right side of the road before) but it as an extra 50 euro or something for drivers under 25, so we put it under scott's name instead and hoped there wouldn't be any accidents! (nuria came up with a good excuse for the police if there was - that scott had been driving but was tired,...

Granada
November 10, 2010 - Granada, Spain
We finally made it to the Granada hostel on Sunday! Of course we had the worst hostel receptionist I have ever had. She was slow and only stated the obvious, completely leaving out everything important. I was really cranky after all the troubles we had getting to the hostel, and I think I scared her a little. The rooms were not ready yet, so Mom and I went out to eat. The tapas are free in Granada, which is awesome. We got some drinks, a tapa of paella, gazpacho soup (AMAZING!), a Spanish...
