Checking out Phuket, Thailand
April 29, 2013 - Phuket, Thailand
Our group landed not long ago to a severe tropical storm. It's awfully hot with lots of strong winds and intense rain which persisted right through the night up until late this morning. We had an excellent welcome from very polite resort staff. We were given a ride to our room with a beach buggy - which had been wonderful. He guaranteed me one more ride on it tonight. My room is breathtaking and of course spacious with spectacular views of the gardens down below and if you stare very...

Returning To Paradise
February 20, 2013 - Ko Phi Phi, Thailand
The Gentleman: I'm sitting here in another hammock, looking out onto another incredible picture-postcard beach scene, so now seems like a good time to put in another post and update everyone on what we've been up to since our last entry. It feels like ages ago that we were in Phnom Penh so I wont go into too much detail because otherwise this could go on for a while! After leaving Cambodia's capital we caught a very full bus over to the city of Siem Reap, the base for exploring the amazing...

The American Version of Events
January 16, 2013 - Patong, Phuket, Thailand
The American: I find myself in another taxi going to some unknown place on a side of the world I never imagined I would lay eyes on. But here I am with Phuket fading away behind me and Singapore waving me in. I don't think my conscious self has even begun to realise yet that this is my life. Tonya's life now consists of jumping from city to city, country to country, and eventually continent to continent...this can't be right can it? Eighteen days into our travels, I feel it's time to relate...

Hammocks and Happy Hours
January 8, 2013 - Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand
The Gentleman: So we were actually intending to be reasonably productive yesterday - got up nice and early and set off to explore a different part of the island and see what we could find. Then we came across a deserted stretch of beach and two hammocks hanging under the shade of a tree. A place where productivity takes a back seat. It would have been rude not to though really. As I was lying there staring out onto the turquoise water, sipping a drink and watching the tiny waves break on the...

From Bangkok into paradise...
January 6, 2013 - Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand
The Gentleman: Well it's probably a couple of weeks overdue but I'm finally getting around to making my debut post. Try to contain your excitement please. Since The American's last post we've now moved on from the craziness of Bangkok down to the paradise of the Thai islands. First stop - Ko Phan Ngan. We'd heard a lot about this place before we came, mainly involving Full Moon parties, but I don't think we were prepared for how amazing it is. It's exactly what you picture if you close...
