Hammocks and Happy Hours
January 8, 2013 - Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand
The Gentleman: So we were actually intending to be reasonably productive yesterday - got up nice and early and set off to explore a different part of the island and see what we could find. Then we came across a deserted stretch of beach and two hammocks hanging under the shade of a tree. A place where productivity takes a back seat. It would have been rude not to though really. As I was lying there staring out onto the turquoise water, sipping a drink and watching the tiny waves break on the...

From Bangkok into paradise...
January 6, 2013 - Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand
The Gentleman: Well it's probably a couple of weeks overdue but I'm finally getting around to making my debut post. Try to contain your excitement please. Since The American's last post we've now moved on from the craziness of Bangkok down to the paradise of the Thai islands. First stop - Ko Phan Ngan. We'd heard a lot about this place before we came, mainly involving Full Moon parties, but I don't think we were prepared for how amazing it is. It's exactly what you picture if you close...

Ko Phangan
August 17, 2009 - Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand
Coming from Bankok we couldnt wait to get to Koh Phangan and start with the relaxing part (so far it had been sooo much stress) of our travels, the Islands. We arrived midday and headed for Hat Rin on the southwest point of the island. The same night we visited the "half moon" party (one of many diffrent moon parties on offer) by the southern beach. Our first accomodation called " Paradise Beach" right on the famous "full moon party beach" was anything else then a paradise expect of the...

postage stamp
November 28, 2009 - Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand
What we've done for the last four days I could write on a postage stamp!!  We are still on Ko Pha Ngan in the same beach hut - it's too nice (and cheap) to leave!!  We have been to the beach a few times where we have both done some snorkelling - there wasn't loads and loads down there but there was enough little fish and shrimps to keep me amused for a few hours. We ate out with girl from Magherafelt (no more then a few miles from Julie's home town!) and her boyfriend the other night at a...

Why do scooters always sound like they don't wanna be out  - wwwwwhhhaaaaaaaaaaaa.  We hired a scooter each today.  God dam, it was scary and fun all at the same time.  The cost of renting some "death" is a meagre 150baht (3quid) a day.  The woman at the shop also sold us some gasoline from old mineral water bottles that were sat in the baking sun - health and safety = health and schmafety!!!!  If Julie had a pound for every time she's ridden a scooter she wouldn't have two pennies to...
