Thailand (Ko Tao)
February 21, 2010 - Phuket, Thailand
19-21 Feb 2010 19 Feb: We set out on an1 hour 30 minute ferry ride to the island of Ko Tao or "Turtle Island" so named because its outline resembles a turtle nose-diving toward Ko Pha Ngan. On the western side, the turtle's underbelly is a long curve of classic beach, Hat Sai Ree. The island is the last and most remote of the archipelago that continues the line of Surat Thani's mountains into the sea. Political prisoners were jailed from 1933 to 1947 before it was settled by a family...

Thailand (Ko Pha Ngan)
February 18, 2010 - Phuket, Thailand
16-18 Feb 16 Feb: The day begins with getting dropped off at the pier 2 hrs before a 30 minute ferry ride to Ko Pha Ngan. Why did the ferry transportation company pick us up so early we think to ourselves. Perhaps it was to spend money at the overpriced deli/restuarant, which we did out of boredom. Thailand (Phuket)
February 7, 2010 - Phuket, Thailand
Phuket 07-10 Feb 07 Feb 2010: After a 5 minute taxi ride from the airport, we checked into Tanamas House - a charming little bungalow with air-con and hot water, which we would later learn to appreciate. Our accommodations were located very near Nai Yang Beach on Phuket island. Phuket, Thailand's largest island, is situated off the west coast in the Andaman Sea. The winding coastal roads along the west coast of this 540-square-km island offer stunning views and easy access to some of the...

Kamala Beach
February 1, 2010 - Phuket, Thailand
We arrived! It's quite lovely here, the Andaman Sea is warm and inviting, and the sand is soft and wonderful. We can't complain about anything. John seems to have found an opportunity to do a divemasters internship here in Kamala Beach, so Lord willing we'll be here for at least 3 months. The Philippines was a wonderful blessing to us in many ways. Leaving there is sad but exciting, and we took a short plane ride to Bangkok, excited that we're getting to do something that we've wanted to for...
