WOW - so long since we last wrote.  Sorry all. So, last we left off we were in Kota Bharu (Malaysia) waiting for our overnight bus to Penang.  Well, the bus was awesome - prbly the most comfortable bus EVER!! Arrived in Georgetown (the capital of Penang) at 4am and faced with the question, where do we go now???  So, we found our way into town...

Saying Goodbye to Namita - Phuket

Namita: That night after returning from Raya and freshening up at our hotel, we took Rupesh out for his birthday dinner (we had missed his birthday in Toronto).  We ended up at a steakhouse that was recommended in the Lonely Planet.  The food was pretty good.  After dinner, we bought what can be described as these cylinder shaped kite things....

Bangkok is so humid and hot at the moment, i couldn't wait to get out of there. I booked the last seat (apparently) on a sleeper train to Surat Thani, which is a drop off point for boats and buses to the west coast of Thailand. The train took 13 hours, though most of the trip was spent at a stand strill waiting for other trains to pass...
