Checking out Phuket, Thailand
April 29, 2013 - Phuket, Thailand
Our group landed not long ago to a severe tropical storm. It's awfully hot with lots of strong winds and intense rain which persisted right through the night up until late this morning. We had an excellent welcome from very polite resort staff. We were given a ride to our room with a beach buggy - which had been wonderful. He guaranteed me one more ride on it tonight.  My room is breathtaking and of course spacious with spectacular views of the gardens down below and if you stare very...

Phuket Thailand
March 19, 2011 - Phuket, Thailand
Yesterday was a brief stop in Phuket .  We went our separate ways for the day:   I, for a 3 hour Spa treatment !  (yummy) followed by a visit to a Buddhist temple ("Body and Spirit") -  as Bruce went on an island snorkeling adventure.  He was happy to discover that although the beaches are beautiful, they are no more beautiful than the Abacos (which are only a few hours away from BTV). We know that several of you are going through some tough times, and we want to make sure you know...

Vakantie!
May 13, 2010 - Phuket, Thailand
Eindelijk vakantie! Puur genieten!

Thailand 2
April 19, 2010 - Phuket, Thailand
It's been an adventure, and after a lot of prayer God made a way for us to finally leave Thailand, and ended up directing us back home for at least the summer. We have so, so much to thank Him for. He's been really, really good. An unexpected turn of events, but a welcome one nonetheless, and we're stoked to by flying north to good 'ol Alaska! We made some wonderful friends here who we'll never forget, including a cat, but we are happy to turn our faces toward the frozen land and our green...

Thailand (Ko Tao)
February 21, 2010 - Phuket, Thailand
19-21 Feb 2010 19 Feb: We set out on an1 hour 30 minute ferry ride to the island of Ko Tao or "Turtle Island" so named because its outline resembles a turtle nose-diving toward Ko Pha Ngan. On the western side, the turtle's underbelly is a long curve of classic beach, Hat Sai Ree. The island is the last and most remote of the archipelago that continues the line of Surat Thani's mountains into the sea. Political prisoners were jailed from 1933 to 1947 before it was settled by a family...
