Ancient Constantinople
May 23, 2014 - Istanbul, Turkey
Our hugely successful training course is finally over, so now I can start writing about all the fun stuff I’ve been up to in my down time. We were supposed to have a half day of training on Wednesday, but we rearranged the schedule so everyone could have the whole day off. Even though the other days were much longer, it was definitely worth it. I will celebrate with the national drink of Turkey – raki! Like I mentioned in a previous post, Istanbul has been an important city for...

Busy, Busy, Busy...
May 22, 2014 - Istanbul, Turkey
I swear that I am not running around Istanbul this whole trip.  I’m actually super busy with the training course, and I spend most of my day in a conference room.  Here is the evidence:We are squeezing in as much sightseeing as possible, but that is cutting into my blog writing time, will get some posts up soon. I was able to upload some pictures, so check that section and I'll explain them soon.

Europe, Asia and Europe?
January 4, 2012 - Istanbul, Turkey
Its incredible how simply arriving back in Europe can make it feel like your home. Perhaps its simply my associations of similar scenery involving a holiday followed by the security of a short flight home. It feels like I'm at the garden gate. Reality is that I actually have the length of Australıa again to get home without engaging on any skiing.   Istanbul is a fascinating city. Jaw droppıngly imposing mosques, palaces and ancient buildings everywhere. Its easy to take for granted the...
