Oh my goodness
June 28, 2011 - Busia, Uganda
I'm leaving Busia tomorrow morning at 6 AM. Landing in Boston a mere 38 hours later... Still trying to process this -- it feels like I was just writing my first post for this blog! I promise to write about this past week and to post photos once I settle in at home. Peace, Cathy

June 19, 2011 - Busia, Uganda
Back in Busia, and I feel like my heart is whole again. I arrived in Uganda on Monday morning and took a bus out to western Uganda to see Michelle. It was wonderful to give her a big hug after 10 months. She’s staying in a beautiful home in a national forest, with monkeys and baboons and butterflies in the backyard. Farewell, Uganda
December 25, 2010 - Busia, Uganda
Well, I have officially left Uganda. My Busia family threw me an amazing farewell party before I left so I thought I’d share some details and pictures with you all. Last...

Last week, I did see that one of the local shops had put up a sign that says “Merry Christmas” and flashes in different colors. I don’t think I have much to worry about, though, as the power goes...

I Shouldn't Have Eaten Lunch Today
November 30, 2010 - Busia, Uganda
I had a busy morning today as I walked throughout town running "errands" -- I had to buy some things from the market and visit some friends in the village who I hadn't seen since I left for Rwanda.  When I returned home, I had a big plate of cassava, beans, and matooke and then left to visit a student.  I had promised her that I would go to visit her and her mother at their home before I left Uganda.  So I took her older brother with me, and pineapple in hand, we went to their village. Of...
