Strength in the Battle
March 10, 2015 - Mityana, Uganda
Greetings from Uganda! It may come as a surprise to many of you that you are getting a notification of me writing a blog again while I’m in Uganda. This came as much of a surprise to me as well when I found out I was going to be coming here again only 3 weeks ago! Due to a few different circumstances, and with my new job as Sponsorship Coordinator for True Impact Ministries, I am now here officially on business to continue doing the work that God has put in front of us as a ministry and I...

August 29, 2014 - Mityana, Uganda
It’s been wonderful, confusing, frustrating, joyful homecoming back to Uganda. I’ve been able to spend some time in both Mityana as well as Jinja, visiting both the Walusimbi family and also all of the children at The Michelle and Julia Hoffman Memorial Children’s Home. It’s amazing to see what can take place in just a matter of four months. The changes, both good and bad, have really amazed me and for all of the things that continue to take place I have to just say that I’m in awe...

Finding Peace
January 5, 2014 - Mityana, Uganda
Peace. It's probably the hardest thing that I struggled to find over the past week.  I had just come back from visiting my friend Nicole in Kampala for a few days at the orphanage that she is serving at about an hour away.  I was supposed to come home on New Year's Day and celebrate the New Year with her,  but I ended up having to come back a day early due to an unfortunate case of malaria.  I had so much trouble sleeping on the 30th and called my daddy the next morning, telling him I...

December 26, 2013 - Mityana, Uganda
Merry late Christmas to everyone.  Hoping this year has been one full of blessings, surprises, laughter, and above all love!  I pray you all have a great new year as well. My first blog that I wrote here from Uganda was one involving a little boy named Steven.  Steven (4) and his older brother Jonathon (5) live at the dormitories here at the school for 9 out of the 12 months of the year.  The other 3 months is spent an hour away, in a mud hut with their blind and drunkard father, who...

December 20, 2013 - Mityana, Uganda
Today it finally felt like it was about to be Christmas.  It's amazing how snow really just makes it feel like the season, and now that I don't have it it's weird to be having Christmas in this weather.  **sidenote-I'm not complaining, this is just a statement.  I don't miss snow. I got to listen to some of my Christmas music as I was washing dishes this morning which was great.  Ephraim and I also put up the family's Christmas tree, and of course the first ornament put on it was my...
