So in three days time I will be Peru-bound! I found this website through the other girl who will be there at the same time. She's from Minnesota and we will be working on the same project, which thankfully is the one I wanted most....working in a hospital outside of Lima!!! So I will be building a resume and hopefully fully enjoying my summer...

Deze ochtend vanuit Roanoke koers gezet naar Asheville. Deze trip duurde ruim 4 en half uur via een saaie amerikaanse highway, alwaar je sommige vrachtwagens met ruim 110 kilometer per uur voorbij komen zeilen. Tevens te bedenken dat in de staat North Carolina de maximale snelheid voor auto's op de snelweg 70 mph is, dit is omgerekend 112 km/u....

Na een bewogen nacht tussen de dieren, zijn we vroeg opgestaan. Dit dankzij de vorige bezoekers, die de wekker niet goed hadden uitgezet. Vanaf deze dag gaan we de binnenlanden in, voorlopig weg van de drukte. We hebben onze navigatie ingesteld om via de plaats Front Royal te rijden. Bij deze plaats ligt de noordelijke ingang van de Skyline Drive. Dit is de weg die dwars door het Shenandoah National park ligt. Deze weg is ruim 160 km lang en heeft ongeveer 75 uitzichtspunten....
