On Our Way
June 16, 2015 - Washington, District of Columbia, United States
One last post before we leave for Jordan, since I don't know when I'll be able to post once I'm there. We'll be getting to Jordan the day after tomorrow, insha'allaah (hopefully)! Yesterday, we had our first Arabic lessons and quiz, and we're learning quickly already! We're able to introduce ourselves, ask each other questions, and speak in some sentences. We gave 2-minute presentations today to introduce our roommates in Arabic, which was stressful but we could all do it! It's really cool!...

Orientation in D.C.
June 14, 2015 - Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Hi everyone! Wow, what a crazy three days it has been! High school graduation on Friday, winning the Lacrosse State Championship on Saturday, and now today in D.C. preparing for six weeks of immersive Arabic study in Amman, Jordan! But so far things are looking pretty good. The flight down here was uneventful (apart from a few tears from my mom!) and I was met as planned at the airport. Today we have the day to ourselves. It was very hot and so decided that walking aroubnd all day wasnt a good idea sio we got the hop on hop off bus. We got to see alot of Washington this way and we decided we wanted to visit the old area called Georgetown. Its a lot older and there is a lovely water front area where you can sit and have a drink on the banks of the Potomac river. After this we made our way to the Central station where to Marks delight we found a Yo Sushi. After lunch we went...

Day 44 - Washington DC and NFL match
October 17, 2010 - Washington, District of Columbia, United States
9am on the bus into Washington DC, I went to the Natural History Museum and saw the hope Diamond (I have to amend my earlier story about the diamond, it wasn’t found in that gold mine, it has been around for hundreds of years not even in the states). It was a blue diamond but I wasn’t that impressed with it, it wasn’t as big as I thought it would be. I walked round the rest of the museum and had a guided tour round the ocean halls, from there I headed over to the air and space...
