AIR - Most people will never think twice about breathing. Anyone with asthma or bronchitis or a collapsed lung will tell you that breathing is a gift. Yesterday I woke up extremely short of breath and near passing out. It got worse as the day went on, to the point that my mother took me to the local clinic. Though this wasn't as bad as having whooping cough & bronchitis at the same time, it's still not ideal for vacation. The clinic doc gave me a shot of steroids, and within 5 minutes I was...

Natchez Trace and Kentucky Derby
April 24, 2012 - Louisville, Kentucky, United States
Our next stop on our 2012 Eastern Motorhome trip was Hohenwald, TN.  We arrived at the Natchez Trace Thousand Trails Park on April 24.  This is a really nice park with a large lake and some steep hills on the park roads.  Roundtrip from our campsite to the entrance was 3 miles, so it was a nice workout.   The drive up the Natchez Trace from Tishomingo, MS was really pretty with hardly any traffic.   We had a surprise when we arrived at the park.  A friend, Patrice, that we met 2...

We spent the day walking the grounds and enjoying the peaceful, slow-paced atmosphere of this Farm. Think la-dada, My Old Kentucky Home!   There were numerous breeds of horses to see, pet and talk to. Yes, every one of us talked to the horses as if they were our best friends. They included Rocky Mountain Trotter, American Paint, American Morgan, Arabian,...

Travel Day to Lexington, KY
May 2, 2010 - Lexington, Kentucky, United States
On the road today to Lexington. It’s a short trip—only 167 miles but with all the rain that’s coming we decided to leave out earlier than usual. This was our first trip in inclement weather. First we had really gusting winds from Knoxville to the Kentucky Visitor Center. That was pretty exhausting for Ken to keep everything on track. Kind of funny though. When we got to the Kentucky Visitor Center, it was packed with travelers and truckers; we could barely find a place to park. I...
