 Up early in search of the ultimate big Maine breakfast! We lucked out again and found Home Kitchen Cafe in Rockland. Funky place that reminded us of the Flying Biscuit in Atlanta. We stuffed ourselves (yay, my blueberry pancakes at last!!) then drove up to Mount Battie. Beautiful views of Camden and all the surrounding area in Penobscot Bay...so pretty. On the road again toward Portland. We stopped for a late lunch in town - another BUSY city full of tourists enjoying the amazing weather....

This is work???

Back in the Student Center at Keene State after returning from Guatemala, I was frequently asked "How was your vacation?" My first reaction surprised even me..."Hey man, I was working!" But if being part of a great team of students and staff spending the 13 days experiencing Guatemala and it's people are a part of my job, then I'm an extremely lucky guy. This is our story and THIS IS WORK....indeed.

Post program reflection...

The team met yesterday for a post-program reflection 10 days after our return. It seems like 100 days. In that 10 days we returned to work/home/wherever, prepared and began the second semester and one of us got back into the swing of packing lunches, dropping kids off at school and covering days with no school or childcare...just as if I never left. We looked at some photos, talked about some of the strangeness and excitement of coming home and trying to explain this experience to others. I...
