 Our next stop was Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. T or C (as the locals refer to their town) won it's name in a contest sponsored by Ralph Edwards' popular radio (later on TV) show many years ago. It's a small town of about 8000 residents. Silver City, New Mexico

 After leaving Green Valley we headed out toward Silver City, New Mexico. Silver City is best know for Billy the Kid's escape from the local jail. The story is that he was so skinny that he escaped through the jail chimney.  Along the way we crossed the Continental Divide at a little over 6000 feet just as our trip odometer moved past 6000 miles.   We spent five days in Santa Fe at the Worldmark resort. Dan's parents flew down from Oregon and joined us there via the train from Albuquerque. We enjoyed the plaza there and the art museums as well as piano bar entertainment and many fine foods. We did a fair amount of window shopping because you gotta have some dough to go shopping at Santa Fes finest.
