Adventures of the Mind
August 7, 2015 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Only two days after getting back to Vermont from Jordan, I left again to go to a conference in Philadelphia called Adventures of the Mind. In retrospect, it wasn't a good idea to leave again so soon; I don't have enough time at home as it is and I think since I was missing Burlington I couldn't enjoy Adventures quite as much. Aside from that, though, it was a good experience, and I definitely learned a lot! I found out about Adventures of the Mind when my guidance counselor got an email from...

Hickory Run State Park & Timothy Lake South RV
September 3, 2013 - White Haven, Pennsylvania, United States
We moved to the Hickory Run State Park campground in White Haven, PA from East Stroudsburg, PA on Sept. 3.  It was a really pretty state park, but we only had power hook up so we had to use water from our tank for a  week.  That means that we had to go and shower in the park showers, so we could conserve water in our tank.  The showers had no heat, the shower curtains were ripped, and the very high windows were open.  The water was barely lukewarm, so we froze taking showers.  The...

2013 Eastern Trip East Stroudsburg, PA
August 20, 2013 - East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, United States
We left Lockport, NY on August 16, and arrived for a four night stay at my aunt and uncle's in Spencer, NY. We picked up my sister, Christine, in Rochester to ride with us.  We were on our way to attend our nephew John's wedding at Princeton University.  It was Christine's first ride in a motorhome and she enjoyed it. Another aunt and uncle came and had a picnic with us one day.  We parked our motorhome in their yard, and had a really nice visit.  We arrived in Timothy Lake Resort...

2013 Eastern Trip Advance, NC to Erie, PA
June 27, 2013 - Erie, Pennsylvania, United States
Once again, I am way behind on my journals.  On June 25 we left Advance, NC, where we stayed at Forest Lake Resort (TT) for six days.  We spent one night on the road in a small campgroud, and then arrived in Erie, PA on June 27 for a week.  We stayed in Erie Lakes Campground, which is a very nice county park on Lake Erie.   Our first night a bicyclist came in to spend the night.  His bicycle was so loaded down with supplies including his tent that I don't see how he could even pedal his...

Citizens Bank Field - Philadelphia Phillies
September 16, 2010 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Citizens Bank Park, home of the 2008 (almost 2009) World Champion Philadelphia Phillies, opened in 2004 was another great baseball park. It was built to replace the now-demolished Veterans Stadium, which they had shared with the Eagles NFL pro team. As much as I hate to admit it, the ballparks have all been such wonderful facilities; they’re beginning to “smudge” together in my mind. (They’re all tied at the end of the 9th and it takes a homerun to stand out!) It’s a good thing...
