We had a great discovery in a small Texas town called Gonzales. There was a small theatre attached to a historical museum about the a battle in Texas. The amphitheatre was small and in a semi circular fashion. We were told that nothing had been performed there for years. It was a shame.

We found 3 great teatres in San Antonio. Two of them are still standing. On in on the River Walk and the other is the Sunken Theatre. The third that is no longer there is at the San Jose Mission. It was in such disrepair that they took it down.

There were not WPA amphitheatres that we could find in Houston. However, the Miller Outdoor Theatre was quite an impressive building.

There was quite a few entries for Fort Worth, Texas. Most of the outdoor theaters were built as part of the school system. However, over the years, most of the amphitheaters have been town down and turned into playing fields or parking lots. I was able to find a few pictures of what the theaters looked like, but none of them remain.
