Safeco Field 2013
June 28, 2013 - Seattle, Washington, United States
It’s been 2 years since we’ve visited a ballpark so I’m so excited to add another ballpark to our “Touching All the Bases” adventure! ******************************************************** Closer! Closer! CLOSER! Seeing Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners, began from the air as we landed in Seattle.  Next we gazed out of the Space Needle downtown from 520 feet high and spotted Safeco and Century Link Field, which is right next door. Then we sighted the Field from the...

ALOHA FROM OAHU, HAWAII
January 29, 2011 - Seattle, Washington, United States
There’s a different vibe here; Waikiki is primarily a holiday resort and not a backpacker place..so it feels like my trip has already ended and I’m just having a mini-vacation, before normal life is resumed. I would describe Waikiki as a place for relaxing, even though there’s plenty to do here. There are beautiful beaches (busy in the south, quiet, and less touristy, in the north) and the ocean is shallow a long way off the beach. I swam alongside a turtle one day. Obviously there is...

Seattle:
September 3, 2010 - Seattle, Washington, United States
We drove the 101 all the way from Sol Duc Hot Springs to I-5 and then booked it up to Seattle. The drive along 101 followed the Hood Canal and was beautiful. The sun was out and most of the drive had canal views. We really liked the feel of Hoodsport and Union. Eventually, we'll go back and spend some more time there. We arrived in Seattle and were surpised to find the sun out and it somewhat hot. Our friend Daren lives in the University District which was a close walk to a lot of cool...

Day 13 - Last Day of Twilight Tour - Seattle
September 16, 2010 - Seattle, Washington, United States
There is no sightseeing today, just packing our bags and driving from Port Angeles to Seattle where Lara our Tour Guide leaves us. We left about 9am and arrived in seattle at 12.30pm. We had our last lunch together as a group before we all went our separate ways. It was Laras last tour before she has to leave the country and it was emotional for us all to say goodbye to everyone. One of the ladys we call mum was organised to get everyones emails and will email everyone so we will all be...

Thailand
February 5, 2010 - Seattle, Washington, United States
05-07 Feb 2010 05 Feb: Linda's birthday and we set out for the airport to begin our maiden vouyage to SE Asia together. The Seattle to Taipei leg is approximately 12 hrs and was thankfully uneventful. We napped, ate (surprisingly well), and watched some Hollywood "blockbusters" that reminded us of why we spend little money on going out to first run films. Taipei (literally "Northern Taiwan") is the largest city in Taiwan and has served as the de facto capital (provisional capital) of...
