Smell you later Saigon.
May 20, 2013 - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
W had two days in Ho Chi Minh before saying goodbye to both Jules (sad face) and Vietnam. The first day was all a bit much for me. We arrived at 6am, checked into the hotel and had a good couple of hours sleep. We really needed this because the train driver, like all moped and car drivers,  consistently beeped the horn. All night long. At some point or other during the past 2 and a half weeks, all three of us have had a very impassioned rant about this. "So unnecessary! Who are you even...

Snorkelling and banging bruschetta on the beach
May 16, 2013 - Nha Trang, Vietnam
Today we spent the whole day snorkelling at various locations. We booked this boat trip for yesterday but got a bit carried away with happy hour in one bar and ladies night in another the night before, so groggily stumbled to reception at 8am to beg them to change it. Rachel claimed sunburn and each member of the hostel staff asked us "how is your health? I hear Rachel is sick? And Julian is sick?" all day. We are bad people. Anyway, after a false start we got an early night and set off this...

Nha Trang
May 14, 2013 - Nha Trang, Vietnam
Nha Trang is ace! We arrived at 8am and hit the beach. We all weirdly burnt our shins, me more so than the others, and had a top meal and a top night out. We made two Norwegian friends at the train station in Dha Nang and met up with them in the sailing club on the beach front last night. This place is seriously swanky (I'm back again now writing this blog we were so impressed). So we had some wine and the place gradually turned into a club. Rach and I fancied a pizza so they brought one over...

Hoi An
May 14, 2013 - Hoi An, Vietnam
We travelled to Hoi An by private car - get us! You can live like a king on virtually no money here. The car took us the more scenic route through the mountain pass, a brief stop at a beach and to an impressive viewpoint. Hoi An is known for its tailors they line every street. You can easily get a suit specially made for you for around £70. This place is also famous for its food and the law which insists all houses and businesses hang a lantern outside the premises at nightfall. When the sun...

May 14, 2013 - Hue, Vietnam
Follow my blog with Bloglovin We had two days in Hue, which is a lovely town with more of a backpacker scene than the other places we'd visited so far. Hue has it's own food specialities and we went for lunch as soon as we arrived. Rach and Jules dived straight in, ordering a Hue banquet each. There was so much food: raw fish in banana leaf, shrimp soup, spring rolls, Hue pancakes etc. I've been suffering a bit with mosquito bites (I had a fight with a horse fly too. Seeing as I drew blood...
