I was pacing up and down the hotel room and later the lobby waiting for Meka to arrive. She turned up much later then expected (her flight was delayed) in a beaten up old taxi. I couldn't contain my excitement screaming and jumping up and down while beginning to tell her things but trailing off mid sentence... The girls are in Ho Chi Minh City....

Leaving the Coast- Mui Ne to Dalat.

Heading down the coast form North Vietnam to South the terrain suddenly changes from lush green rice paddy fields and thick jungles to a rough dry, sandy landscape. Near Mui Ne Beach it is a little like a desert. The hills behind the beach are actually sand dunes covered in scrubby bushes. I have just been reading a book by Wilfred Thesiger...
