Days 29 and 30
September 18, 2012 - Livingstone, Zambia
Firstly, thanks everyone for the comments.  We've so enjoyed reading them and it makes us feel connected to all of you. Before we set off from Muckleneuk Farm, Terry found that the fan on the car had lost several of its blades, so we were going to have to do something about that once we got to Livingstone which was about 200 km down the road. However, we stopped fo a cup of tea with the farmer, Ian Bruce-Miller and his daughter, Emma, who farms with him, before we headed off.  Delightful...

Botswana - Ihaha - Chobe
May 18, 2011 - Livingstone, Zambia
Our last stop in Chobe was Ihaha – another disappointing facility with bad ablutions and poorly planned sites. Lucky for us we managed to get a bigger site so that we could more comfortably fit. Buffalo roamed this camp at night and on the last night elephant too! By day we had kudu and impala along with our most unwelcome visitors..... the baboons and vervets. The vervets pulled in early every morning keeping Karl and Petra very busy with their water pistol and catty! Karl became an...

Botswana - Savuti
May 18, 2011 - Livingstone, Zambia
We thought we had left the worst of the bad roads behind at Moremi but the journey to Savuti was far worse, in fact the worst roads we have travelled on by far.... especially if you are towing!   It took us 8.5 hours to do 200kms. We stopped on the road to de-stress the caravan, empty the water tank and put all the weight we could elsewhere as the side walls were tearing apart on the back left leaving a gaping hole! A bolt holding the supporting beam underneath had come loose so the shell...

Botswana - Moremi
May 17, 2011 - Livingstone, Zambia
We arrived at Moremi just after the wet Easter rush so the roads were very messed up! First Bridge was barely passable, Second Bridge was not at all, George and Karl tested the waters and a small crocodile jumped out. We had to take deep water detours around the side of Second Bridge and many road detours to get past the worst of the mud and puddles. Lucky for us it had not rained for a couple of days but still the puddles were deep and full of nasty surprises! We had the advantage of having...

't Is niet mogelijk...!
May 17, 2011 - Livingstone, Zambia
