Days 9 and 10
August 30, 2012 - Kariba, Zimbabwe
We were directed not to be late for the ferry, so 8am saw us queueing with 6 other vehicles, one towing a caravan.  We waited while the ferry offloaded its westward bound load and then we were carefully loaded according to size.  Our bakkie was one of the smallest vehicles so there wasn't too much problem for us, but the caravan and bigger 4x4's were packed in with only centimetres to spare between them.  The skill with which the ferrymen directed us and parked the cars was someting to...

Day 5
August 29, 2012 - Kariba, Zimbabwe
A very quiet day in camp.  We went to Nata Bird Sanctuary early in the morning to find that there are no birds as the pans are dry so drove into town where everything is very expensive, except MEAT, which is exceptiona;lly cheap.  We tried to get to the Internet Cafe at the post office which is on a dusty piece of ground with odd people sitting around but was told 'It is not working', so back to Nata Lodge to hook up with their VERY slow internet.  The rest of the day was spen sewimming...
